FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Answers Before You Commit

These are the questions leaders and business owners ask me before we work together. I have answered them the way I answer them on the phone.

Most of these questions come from the same place.

You have already paid for leadership development once. You got a workbook, a personality profile, and a good feeling that lasted until Monday. Your numbers did not move. Your team did not change. You are not on this page asking whether leadership development works. You are asking whether mine does, and whether I am going to cost you six months finding out.

Fair question. Ask it.

Who’s Answering
I spent more than 20 years leading Soldiers in places where a bad decision cost more than a quarter.

I spent the years after that leading inside the federal government, where nobody was shooting, and the leadership problems were identical.

Twenty-five years, and a Doctorate in Business Administration in organizational development. Most people in this business have one of those or neither.

I’ve led Soldiers. I’ve coached CEOs.
The Battle-Tested Leadership Methodology™ is what happens when you put both to work on the same problem.

The long version is on my bio page. It can wait. Start with the answers.

Is This For Me?

Q1. Who do you work with?
Business owners, executives, and managers in companies that range from a solo operator to 300 employees. IT services, digital marketing, education, retail, and professional services. If you are accountable for a result you cannot deliver by yourself, you are my client.

Q2. Is this only for military or corporate leaders?
No. The methodology came out of my experiences being in the Army and in life. It works anywhere someone is working to be a better leader in life, over people and things. The environment changes, leadership does not.

Q3. Do you work with startups, solopreneurs, and nonprofits?
Yes, all three, and the work is different for each. Startups need infrastructure before they need scale. Solopreneurs need systems that stop them from being the bottleneck in their own business. Nonprofits need operational discipline that protects the mission instead of competing with it. What does not change is that I build the structure with you and then hold you to it.

Q4. Do I need a leadership coach or a business coach?
Start with leadership if the problem is your confidence, your communication, or a team that will not execute. Start with business if the problem is scale, structure, or systems. Most engagements need both. I will tell you which one to lead with on the call.

What Is This, Exactly?

Q5. What is the Battle-Tested Leadership Methodology™?
It is my system for leading under pressure: strategic discipline, values-based decision-making, tactical execution, and adaptive thinking. Built in the Army, refined for business. It is not a philosophy. It is a set of tools you use every single day.

Q6. What makes this different from other leadership programs?
Most leadership coaching stops at insight. You get a personality assessment, goal-setting, communication tips, and a series of reflective conversations. It is pleasant, and it rarely changes anything, because nobody touches the systems your team actually runs on.

I train you, I develop your team, and I build the leadership structure underneath both. Accountability is not an add-on, it is the engagement. You will be asked what you did with the last thing we built.

Q7. Is this coaching or consulting for business owners?
Both, and they do different jobs. Coaching changes how you lead. Consulting changes how your business runs. Doing one without the other is why most engagements stall out, so I run them together and weight them toward whatever you need most.

Q8. Will I be working with you directly?
I develop and teach every program, course, and training I sell. Nobody else delivers my methodology. Not every program includes 1:1 time with me, and I will not pretend otherwise. Group programs are my voice and my material in a group format. If you want private access, 1:1 VIP strategy sessions can be added to any program for an additional fee.

Does It Work?

Q9. What results should I expect?
Faster decisions and tighter accountability. Less time lost to rework. Cleaner delegation, so the work stops routing back through you.
What I commit to is this: every change we make comes with a measurement plan attached. You will see the lift in your own numbers rather than taking my word for it.

Q10. How fast?
Most clients see a leadership shift inside the first 30-90 days. This depends on the individual’s growth abilities. That is the shallow end. Operational change follows the systems we install, and that runs on your business’s timeline, not a brochure’s.

How Does It Run?

Q11. How do we work together?
I have several ways that I work with clients; 1:1 sessions with the business owners or with your leadership team, in an ongoing membership group, in a workshop or retreat built for your organization. Virtual or in person. Every format runs on the same methodology. The delivery changes. The standard does not.

Q12. How long is an engagement?
Depends on the program you choose. A one-time strategy intensive, or an engagement across 3, 6, or 12 months. Month to month with defined milestones is available if you want to scale support to your phase. I build the timeline around the result, not the calendar.

Q13. Do you work with me if I am not local?
Yes. I am based in Maryland, I work with clients nationwide, and I work with English-speaking clients internationally. Virtual sessions run the same agenda, the same action plans, and the same follow-up as in person. I am in Eastern time and I accommodate every U.S. time zone and select international schedules.

Q14. Will I get something in writing?
Yes. Every engagement includes a written roadmap with milestones, timelines, and deliverables tied to your goals. You leave every session knowing what you own and when it is due.

What Does It Cost?

Q15. What is your pricing structure?
I price three ways: hourly for focused coaching, project-based for strategic consulting, and monthly retainer for ongoing work and accountability. Every engagement starts with a clear picture of the return you are buying. I do not do vague estimates or open-ended scopes.

Q16. Can I hire you for one session?
Yes. A one-time strategy intensive is built for a high-stakes decision or a fast reset when you do not need a long engagement. You bring the problem. You leave with the plan.

What Happens Next?

Q17. What happens on the discovery call?
We map your current challenges, the outcome you want, and the gap between the two. You leave with clear next steps, whether you hire me or not. If I am not the right fit for what you need, I will tell you on the call.

Still have a question?
That’s what the call is for.
Book a quick call, tell me what’s still on your mind, and I’ll give you a straight answer.
