The Transition Nobody Briefs You On

We spent years inside a structure that told us where to be, what mattered, and who had our back. Then it stopped. The rank came off, and the mission board went blank. The civilian world handed us a resume template and asked us to compress a lifetime of experience into six bullet points.

Here is what I hear from Veterans every week:

  • The structure disappeared, and nothing replaced it.
  • Your title made sense to everyone in uniform and to nobody outside it.
  • You are qualified for the job, and you cannot prove it on paper.
  • You are underemployed and calling it gratitude.
  • You want to build something of your own, and you have no map for it.
  • You are carrying injuries, visible or not, that never made the transition checklist.

None of this is weakness. This is what happens when they take a trained leader and remove the system we were trained inside.

You do not need a pep talk. You need a plan, and someone who has already run this route.

Katrina, By Way of Iraq

I remember an evening in Iraq when the sand was blowing, and the moon was the only light we had. The darkness was so thick you could barely see two feet ahead. That was the night we got the call. A massive storm was tearing apart the southern United States. Katrina.

Even now the name sits heavy. We watched it on CNN in real time as it ripped through Louisiana, destroying homes, families, and entire communities, while we stood helpless on the other side of the world.

Our phones were down. The lines were jammed. My Soldiers could not reach their families. They did not know if their people were safe, missing, or gone. Day after day I knocked on door after door, delivering news no leader ever wants to deliver. I still feel the shake in my body when I remember telling a young Soldier that the grandmother who raised her had been found, and she was gone. I can still see her collapse to the floor, the Chaplain trying to comfort her, and the raw pain that filled that room.

In those days, as the destruction at home kept unfolding, I questioned whether I could hold the weight my Soldiers were carrying. Whether I could be the leader they needed when fear, grief, and helplessness were all around us. Leadership showed up in the quiet moments. In staying steady when the world was falling apart.

That experience carved out the version of me who leads today. Battle-Tested. Steady under pressure. Able to walk into chaos and create calm, because I learned what it costs to lead when everything is on the line.

I Have Made This Walk

I am MAJ Traci Eisenberg-Rayburn, U.S. Army, Retired. Disabled American Veteran.
Doctorate in Business Administration, Master’s in Project Management, and founder of the Battle-Tested Leadership Methodology™.

The Army trained me to lead. Nobody trained me to leave. I figured that part out on my own, and now I teach it.

In between, I did exactly what you are doing. I took the uniform off and figured out who I was without it.

“I know what it costs to leave service with wounds that show and wounds that do not. Disabilities are not always visible and they do not define us. My disability does not hinder me, it fuels me. It reminds me that the mission continues and that leadership does not end when service does.”

You are capable and You are strong. You still have a mission and I am here to help you execute it.

I’ve Got Your SiX.

Free Services for Veterans. No Cost. No Catch.

You served. You do not pay me to help you land on your feet.
These three services are free to any Veteran who asks.

Resume Writing

Your DD-214 is not a resume. I translate command, operations, logistics and leadership into language a civilian hiring manager actually understands and pays for.

Interview Preparation

Military communication is precise. Civilian interviews are not. Learn to state your record without feeling like you are bragging, and to handle difficult interview questions.

Career Strategy

Too many options and no direction is its own kind of stuck. We name your real strengths, identify the roles that actually fit, and build the route to get you there.

Building Your Own? Veteran Rates Apply.

A lot of Veterans do not want another chain of command. They want to build one.
If that is you, discipline is not your problem, and neither is grit. Structure and strategy are. That is the exact gap I close.

I offer reduced rates to Veterans on:

• Business Start-Up Guidance
• Leadership Coaching
• Operations Development
• Team Communication and Culture Training
• Business Optimization

Same methodology I run with my corporate clients, but with Veteran pricing.

The Method Behind All of It

The Battle-Tested Leadership Methodology™ was not built in a classroom.
It was built in deployments, in transitions, and in the years after the uniform came off.

  • Clarity. Know your mission.
  • Courage. Move before you feel ready.
  • Consistency. Discipline is a system, not a mood.
  • Communication. Say it once and say it clean.
  • Connection. Build the team that has your six.

You already ran a version of this in uniform. I will help you run it out here.

Your Next Mission Starts Now

Twenty minutes. No pitch, no obligation. Bring me the place you are stuck, and I will tell you exactly what your mission needs to be.

If that is a free resume rewrite or building your company, we will talk about it. Either way, you leave the call with a next step and a plan.

Your service was selfless. Your next mission is personal. Let’s execute together.
